October 8, 2009 If the Yankees advance to the American League Championship Series, Chad Gaudin will likely start game four, according to the Our View:Gaudin didn't have to deal with any "Joba rules" this year, and somehow, after pitching terribly for the Padres for the first half of the season, pitched very well in the AL East gauntlet. Perhaps most puzzlingly of all, his new Yankee Stadium ERA this season was 3.04 in 26.2 innings, while his ERA in the pitcher-friendly Petco Park was 6.30 in 40 innings. That being said, we'll see how he fares in potential Boston or Los Angeles ALCS matchups. |

September 28, 2009 Chad Gaudin only allowed two earned runs on four hits over 6.2 innings in Monday's 8-2 win over the Royals at Yankee Stadium. He had two walks with five strikeouts. Our View:Gaudin had a solid outing, and improved his record to 6-10. He allowed two or less earned runs in three of his five starts this month. |

September 21, 2009 Chad Gaudin has replaced the struggling Sergio Mitre as the Yankees' fifth starter, according to Our View:Gaudin has a 2.49 ERA in four starts for the Bombers this season, but obviously will not be in their rotation come October. |

September 16, 2009 Chad Gaudin gave up three earned runs on seven hits over 5.2 innings in Wednesday's 5-4 win over the Jays at Yankee Stadium. He had one walk and two strikeouts. Our View:Toronto was leading 3-2 when Gaudin exited, so he ends the night with a no-decision rather than a win. He remains winless over three starts in September. |

Our View:The Rays tied the game at 2-2 in the eighth inning, so Gaudin was forced to take a no-decision for his strong performance. This could earn him more spot-starts in the Yankees' rotation. |
