According to the Chicago Tribune, injured slugger Carlos Quentin has been sent on a rehab assignment.

Our View:No word on where Quentin headed, but his team locker was empty. The team has been very cautious about predicting when he'll return, but a rehab assignment is always a good sign. Keep Quentin stashed on your roster, as it looks like he may be available soon.

According to the Chicago Tribune, injured outfielder Carlos Quentin is "getting closer" and could be headed for a Minor League rehab assignment in the near future.

Our View:Quentin, out since May 26 with Plantar fasciitis, has been improving and could return shortly after the All Star break. He will likely have a lengthy rehab stint, where he will be put through a program to see if his feet can with stand the rigors of running, hitting and playing the outfield. All signs so far have been optimistic. Keep him stashed on your rosters for now.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that White Sox' outfielder Carlos Quentin took early batting practice before Monday's game. Quentin ended his session by hitting several deep balls into right, and he then proceeded to head to the outfield for agility drills.

Our View:The news coming out of Chicago regarding Quentin has been good for the last couple of days. It sounds like he is getting close to a return, and assuming he doesn't have a setback, he could be back in the lineup sometime within the next few weeks.

Carlos Quentin is progressing in his recovery from his left foot ailment, according to MLB.com. Quentin ran the bases, fielded some grounders and engaged in batting practice today, and he said, "I was a little winded, but it went well. Nothing spiked or elevated as far as the pain. It was kind of a dull ache, and that is what we expected, so we will go from there."

Our View:Quentin remains optimistic of returning to Chicago at some point around the All-Star break. The slugger shall remain patiently stashed on fantasy rosters.

According to the Chicago Tribune, White Sox GMn Kenny Williamson is not impressed with where Carlos Quentin is in his rehab.

Our View:Quentin's plantar fasciitis is not healing as well as expected and apparently he still looks awkward while running. Williams said, "I have not asked the question recently because he's not close enough to where I need to start paying attention to our roster and our decisions regarding our roster." Sounds like he won't be ready for a while.
