Player Notes

Carlos Quentin is nursing a left shoulder ailment, according to Joe Cowley's (Chicago Sun-Times) twitter page.

Our View:The injury is not believed to be serious, and Quentin shouldn't be dropped down fantasy draft boards as of now - even though he has a poor track record with durability.

Carlos Quentin went 2-for-3 with a run scored in Thursday's 4-4 tie with the Indians.

Our View:Quentin, the only White Sox player to record multiple hits in the game, has apparently put his injury woes behind him with a new training regiment and is looking for a bounce back season in 2010. He's currently hitting .286 this spring and has already showed off some pop with two homers and a double.
March 6, 2010
Carlos Quentin went 2-for-3 with five RBI in today's 15-3 preseason win over the cross-town rival Cubs. Both of his knocks were homers.

Our View:Quentin could post very good numbers for fantasy owners in 2010, but will remain a risky pick due to his poor track record with durability.
January 24, 2010
Carlos Quentin reported feeling great and recovered from the multiple injuries that hindered him last season, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. "My body feels well," Quentin said. "The foot feels great. The knee feels good. The wrist feels 10 times better having the hardware out. The old injuries that were in the past feel great. [The wrist] feels a lot better not having anything in there. I felt a little restricted. And you put that in the back of your mind as a hitter. Your hands are very important in the swing. But I'm more focused on how much better it feels now. It makes me excited."

Our View:Quentin managed just 99 games last season and had a career-low .779 OPS. He has hit above .253 just once in his career. Better health will certainly help, bnut it's hard to imagine him topping his 2008 campaign.
January 16, 2010
Carlos Quentin has agreed to a deal with the White Sox to avoid arbitration, according to team VP Scott Reifert's twitter page. He will make $3.2MM in 2010.

Our View:Quentin will be trying to regain his elite status among outfielders following an injury-riddled 2009 campaign. He could potentially be a nice bargain for fantasy owners.
