Player Notes
August 29, 2008
Brandon Wood has been recalled by the Angels to take the place of Howie Kendrick, who has been put on the DL, according to the L.A. Times. Wood hit .296 with 31 home runs in Triple-A this season.

Our View:Wood has supreme power, but with it comes a number of strikeouts. He is certainly worth pursuing, especially in AL-only leagues, as he could give owners needing some pop a few long balls.
June 13, 2008
Brandon Wood has been optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake, according to ESPN.com. The team needed to make room on the roster for Chone Figgins, who has been activated from the DL.

Our View:Wood was given 64 at-bats with the Angels this season, but failed to prove his worth as he held a .125 average, with one homer and two RBI.
May 26, 2008
Brandon Wood was called up last week to to fill in for the injured Erick Aybar and receive a spot start at third base when needed. That time is tonight as the young prospect will start for of Chone Figgins.

Our View:Wood is hitting eighth and will face the Tigers veteran lefty Kenny Rogers.
May 21, 2008
The Angels recalled Brandon Wood from Triple-A Salt Lake Wednesday and optioned Matt Brown.

Our View:Wood, the team's top prospect, could start at second while Erick Aybar and Howie Kendrick are out, with Chone Figgins starting at second.
May 5, 2008
Brandon Wood hit his first home run on Monday night as the Angels put a 4-0 shutout on the Royals.

Our View:Wood, who was recently recalled from Triple-A, has played in seven games, but only had nine at-bats coming into the game. The home run accounted for his first RBI and his third run of the season.
