Player Notes

Conor Jackson had four hits in six trips to the plate on Sunday to boost his average up to .298.

Our View:After a tremendous start to the season, his bat has slowed as the year has dragged on leading to just 12 home runs and 74 RBI, numbers that look no better than his marks the past two seasons (15-79 and 15-60). We're still hopefully there is a .300-25-100 season in his bat, but after three nearly identical seasons, it's starting to look like a long shot.

Conor Jackson was out of Tuesday's lineup again, though he was able to play catch for the first time since injuring his shoulder last week, according to the Arizona Republic. Manager Bob Melvin believes there is a "good chance" that Jackson will return to the lineup tonight.

Our View:Jackson has not played since September 10, but holds an eight-game hitting streak. Fantasy owners should have him available for the final week of the regular season (in leagues that set weekly lineups).

Conor Jackson, who has missed his last three games because of a sore shoulder, may be available to pinch hit on Monday, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:The report goes on to state that the team expects Conor back in the starting lineup on Tuesday, but if you aren't able to switch your lineup on a daily basis you might want to go with another, more healthy, option this week.

The East Valley Tribune reports Jackson had a cortisone shot on his sore right shoulder on Friday. He hopes to return to the lineup on Monday.

Our View:He should be okay to put in your lineup this week.

D-backs left fielder Conor Jackson was out of the lineup Friday night against the Reds due to a sore right shoulder. Jackson doesn't know how he injured the shoulder. It could have been on a throw or a swing in San Francisco on Wednesday. He had an MRI on Friday, but the team did not immediately know the results, or how long he will be out of the lineup.

Our View:At this point, it is unclear how long he will be out of the lineup. We will let you know as soon as the MRI results are made known. Jackson is hitting .294 with 72 RBI this season.
