Aaron Hill missed much of last season due to concussion problems, but the symptoms have cleared, and he should be ready for spring training, according to BlueJays.com.

Our View:Hill had just 205 at-bats last season, in which he hit .263 with two home runs and 20 RBI. However, in 2007 he hit .291 with 17 long balls and 78 runs knocked in. If he can get back to that type of performance, he'll have value in all mixed leagues.

Second baseman Aaron Hill will not play again this season due to continued problems with a concussion he suffered in May, according to NationalPost.com.

Our View:Hill does not have a timetable for his return, and he is currently seeing specialists about the issue.

The Jays are close to officially ending second baseman Aaron Hill's 2008 season. Hill continues to struggle with the after-effects of a concussion suffered on May 29, according to the Toronto Star.

Our View:Hill is currently rehabbing in Florida but continues to have problems stemming from his collision with SS David Eckstein.
July 12, 2008
Aaron Hill has started to field ground balls and hit off a tee at Toronto's complex in Dunedin, Florida, according to BlueJays.com. He has been sidelined since May 29 with post-concussion syndrome.

Our View:Hill is making progress, but there's still no timetable for his return from the DL.
July 9, 2008
The Toronto Star reports that second baseman Aaron Hill is slowly recovering from a concussion he suffered May 29.

Our View:Hill has now begun riding a stationary bike, but is still not been cleared to take part in baseball related activities.
June 24, 2008
Toronto reports second baseman Aaron Hill has been instructed to take two weeks away from the team after which he will be re-evaluated for a potential return to action, according to MLB.com.

Our View:General manager J.P. Ricciardi told reporters that Hill's struggled to overcome post-consuccions syndrome have been far more challenging than anticipated. The 26-year-old Hill was struck on the side of the head by shortstop David Eckstein during a play in the seventh inning against Oakland on May 29. This past weekend in Pittsburgh, the second baseman met with a concussion specialist at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
June 20, 2008
Aaron Hill still is unable to overcome his concussion related symptoms, and as a result he is out indefinitely as the team awaits for his facilities to return, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Hill wont do any baseball related activities for at least two weeks, at which time he will be reevaluated in what is quickly shaping up to be a lost season a year after his breakout performance of last season.

Aaron Hill remains frustrated as he attempts to return from a concussion. He had a setback on Friday. Hill performed a light workout (fielding, hitting, biking), and the effort led to more headaches and dizziness. "I couldn't sleep -- the headaches," Hill told MLB.com. "I don't know. I didn't do anything crazy. Some days are worse than others." His return date is unclear.

Our View:We can only imagine what a nightmare this must be for Hill. He'll need to work a week without symptoms before the Jays will send him on a rehab assignment, so we know he's still at least 10 or 14 days away, if not more.
June 12, 2008
Aaron Hill is having a hard time dealing with his concussion, according to TSN.ca. Hill said, "This is so annoying and frustrating. If it was something else, it's easy to grind through an ankle or a knee, hip, arm, whatever, you can fight through that stuff. They've got painkillers for those types of things. But doing something with the brain, you don't want to mess with it. I would, but way too many people have told me I shouldn't, and I'm listening for a change."

Our View:He is eligible to be activated from the DL on Saturday, but isn't going to happen. The team is hoping Hill remains symptom-free through Monday, which would mark seven normal days and allow him to start a rehab assignment. If he suffers a setback, the cycle must start all over again.
June 11, 2008
Aaron Hill is still at least five days away from beginning a rehab assignment, according to the Toronto Star. GM J.P. Ricciardi said Hill has been symptom-free for two days but needs seven before seeing game action. "We're going to err on the side of caution," the GM said.

Our View:There's no reason to ever rush anyone back from a concussion, so this is a smart move by the Blue Jays.
June 10, 2008
Aaron Hill could begin a minor league rehab assignment next week. The second baseman has been out since May 29 due to a concussion. "He feels a lot better. He's not dizzy. He's not nauseous," general manager J.P. Ricciardi tells MLB.com. "He's on the field moving around. After exercise, he's not dizzy. They consider that asymptomatic."

Our View:The Blue Jays obviously aren't going to take any chances when it comes to handling a concussion. Fantasy owners should be prepared to work without Hill next week.
June 7, 2008
Aaron Hill has missed seven straight games due to a mild concussion and the team has decided to place him on the 15-day DL, according to the AP. The move is retroactive to May 30. The team decided to activate outfielder Vernon Wells.

Our View:He could not play due to headaches and lightheadedness, and hopefully he will bounce back fine upon his return. He was only hitting .263 with two homers and 20 RBI over 55 games, so fantasy owners won't be hurt too much by his absence.
June 6, 2008
Aaron Hill missed his seventh straight game Friday due to a concussion, according to the AP. Hill is still suffering lightheadedness and headaches.

Our View:Look for the Jays to DL Hill soon, as it sounds like he's not coming back soon unless he experiences a breakthrough.
June 3, 2008
Aaron Hill missed his fourth straight start Tuesday due to a concussion, according to MLB.com. Hill took part in early batting practice at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday but is still feeling the lingering effects of an injury that occurred last Thursday. "Frustrated," Hill said when asked how he was feeling. "I'm kind of getting tired of being honest, because they keep me out of the lineup. But, like I've said before, I don't want to push it."

Our View:Concussions are tricky, so it's hard to predict when Hill will be back, though it's good to know that the results of a CAT scan came back clean.
June 1, 2008
Aaron Hill, who left Thursday's game after a collision with shortstop David Eckstein and suffered a concussion, missed his third straight game Sunday.

Our View:Hill remains day-to-day.
May 31, 2008
Aaron Hill was held out of his second straight game on Saturday due to a mild concussion, according to MLB.com. Hill has been asked to refrain from any baseball activity and he said, "I'm just following doctors orders. If something is messing with the head, I don't want to mess with it. I'm just doing what they say. They shut me down. I'm sure it's just for the next day or so."

Our View:Manager John Gibbons said that he may be held out of Sunday's game against the Angels as well. Hill could be cleared to return to second base for the Blue Jays as early as Tuesday, when they play the Yankees. Marco Scutaro will continue to man second while he is out.
May 30, 2008
Blue Jays second baseman Aaron Hill was forced to leave Toronto's 12-0 win over Oakland in the seventh inning, this according to the team website. In a collision with shortstop David Eckstein on a play in shallow center field, Hill's head hit with Eckstein elbow.

Our View:The team is calling the injury a mild concussion and Hill indicated that he was feeling fine after the game and didn't believe he'd need to miss any time.
May 29, 2008
Aaron Hill was removed from the game in the seventh inning after a hard collision with David Eckstein appeared to result in some sort of head injury, according to the Associated Press. It appears that Eckstein's arm hit Hill in the head as they went for a popup.

Our View:There is no word yet on the severity of the injury, so we will have to wait and see if he is able to play over the weekend. Joe Inglett entered the game to replace Hill.
May 26, 2008
Aaron Hill, who was held out of the staring lineup with a sore groin on Monday, ended up playing an inning in place of the injured Joe Inglett.

Our View:Inglett exited in the eighth inning with a tight quad. No word on the severity of the injury. Hill is expected to return to the starting lineup on Tuesday when the team starts a west coast road trip.
May 11, 2008
The Blue Jays gave Aaron Hill a day off on Saturday, and Jorge Velandia started in his place. Hill is 13-for-67 (.194) over the last 18 games. "You never want to say you need a day off, but it will be nice just to get my head straight," he tells the Toronto Star.

Our View:The Blue Jays are going to need Hill to pick it up while Vernon Wells is out. We're sure he got that message while sitting on Saturday. Aaron played 160 games in 2007, and we don't expect him to rest very much the rest of the way in 2008.
May 6, 2008
Aaron Hill has fared well against Andy Sonnanstine, tonight's opposing pitcher for the Rays, according to MLB.com. Hill is 4-for-12 (.333) over his career against the Tampa Bay righty, with three doubles.

Our View:Hill is in need of a strong outing as he hasn't registered more than one hit in a game since April 27 (two against Kansas City), and hasn't generated an RBI since April 18 (one versus Detroit).
April 15, 2008
Aaron Hill hit a three-run homer helping the Toronto Blue Jays beat up the Baltimore Orioles 11-3 on Tuesday night.

Our View:Hill is hitting .340 with two home runs and 12 RBI in 14 games so far this season.
April 12, 2008
Aaron Hill continues to blister the ball as he picked up two hits and knocked in three runs for the Jays.

Our View:Hill didn't get a lot of respect in most circles entering the year, but he seems more than intent to prove that last year's performance is merely his flooring moving forward.
April 4, 2008
The Blue Jays have signed Aaron Hill to a four-year deal with $12 million, MLB.com reports. He new contract includes club options for 2012, 2013 and 2014. He joins Vernon Wells and Alex Rios as part of the long-term core of hitters.
March 8, 2008
2B Aaron Hill had two hits and two RBIs and Shannon Stewart doubled twice for Toronto in today's 4-3 win over Detroit. Hill appears to be the main man at 2B for the Blue Jays and getting this kind of lift from the position is a definitive positive.
