Player Notes
January 25, 2010
Dave Bush has signed a one-year contract with the Brewers to avoid arbitration, according to team beat writer Adam McCalvy's twitter page. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Our View:Outfielder Corey Hart and right-handed pitcher Carlos Villanueva are Milwaukee's only remaining arbitration-eligible players. Bush held a career-worst 6.38 ERA over 22 games (21 starts) in 2009, and will have to work very hard to win a rotation spot in spring training.

Dave Bush was rattled again on Sunday as he coughed up five runs on nine hits and a walk over 4.1 innings in a 6-5 loss to the Phillies. He fanned five, but fell to 5-9 on the season.

Our View:Bush has now served up 15 runs in his last 11.1 innings and appears to be getting worse as the season draws to a close. His ERA for the month is close to 9.00.
September 22, 2009
Dave Bush recorded just four outs before being yanked on Tuesday. He surrendered six runs (five earned) on four hits and four walks in the 7-2 loss to the Cubs.

Our View:Bush has been miserable this season and has just two quality starts in his last 12 outings. With his 6.22 ERA he is not worthy of a start in any fantasy format.
September 17, 2009
Fresh off a seven inning, 11 strikeout masterpiece against the Diamondbacks last weekend, Dave Bush returned to his ordinary 2009 roots on Thursday. The mustachioed righty allowed four runs in 5.2 innings, but did earn his fifth win, as the Brewers won 7-4 at Wrigley Field.

Our View:After posting a 4.18 ERA and sparkling 1.14 WHIP in 185 innings last season, Bush is at the tail-end of a massively disappointing 2009. After missing two months with injury, he is 5-7 with a 5.88 ERA in 20 appearances, 19 of which are starts.
September 12, 2009
Nearing the end of a highly frustrating season, Dave Bush pitched his second straight gem on Saturday night. The righty struck out a season-high 11 Diamondbacks in seven innings, while allowing just one run, as Milwaukee won 9-2 at home.

Our View:Bush still has a 5.85 ERA on the season, but is likely gaining some valuable piece of mind for 2010.
