Player Notes
August 29, 2008
Dave Bush only issued one earned run on six hits over 6.2 innings in Friday's 3-1 win over the Pirates, with two walks and two strikeouts. The only run allowed came on a Nate McClouth home run.

Our View:Bush pitched a gem and evened his record to 9-9. He has won two straight starts, and hasn't been handed a loss in his last five. He merits fantasy consideration in NL-only leagues heading into the final month of the regular season.
August 29, 2008
It has been an up and down season for Dave Bush that has even seen him in Triple-A. After Bush began the season 0-3 and was sent down he has come back and made his mark with the big club. In the month of August Bush has posted a 3-0 record with an ERA of 2.30., according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Our View:Bush has performed lately and could consider some thought about being on your roster down the stretch.
August 22, 2008
Dave Bush continued his stellar August, going seven innings and surrendering three earned runs on seven hits to lead the Brewers to a 10-4 win over Pittsburgh.

Our View:Bush has had a very good August, and fantasy owners should take note. Keep in mind that it could go at any point, but he is worth exploring if you need pitching.
August 22, 2008
Dave Bush has a 1.78 ERA his past three starts (Reds, Nationals and a great outing against the new-look Dodgers). The right-hander has pitched at least seven innings in five of his last seven games, going 3-1 with a 2.77 ERA in that span.

Our View:The stretch started July 5 against the Pirates, when he allowed just one run and four hits in eight innings of work. Rototimes sources can't say enough good things about Bush's form right now. He is doing everything right. His command is spot on, his velocity is the best it's been at any point in his career, his high fastball is almost unhittable and he's pitching smart. Tonight's opponent, the Pirates, have gone from being a threat offensively with Jason Bay and Xavier Nady (.282 team batting average in July) to an anemic entity at the plate without their two sluggers (.236 team batting average since July 31). The difference between the old and the new Pirate lineups should be enough to help Bush perform at the top of his game tonight. It will also help him overcome what was a negative public opinion early in this year's campaign. All that Iraqi business, you know?
August 11, 2008
Dave Bush allowed only five hits and one run over 6.1 innings in his seventh victory of the season on Monday.

Our View:Bush continues to lower his ERA, it's down to 4.35, a run and half below his 5.85 mark just 10 starts ago. He has benefited from an excellent 6.71 K/BB mark as he continues to pour strikes in despite allowing all those home runs (20).
