Despite recent speculation to the contrary, the Rockies are not interested in free agent righty Todd Wellemeyer, according to Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.

Our View:Wellemeyer supposedly has a minor league offer from the Giants currently on the table. After the way he stunk up the joint last season, it might be the best he can do.
February 8, 2010
The Giants have offered Todd Wellemeyer a minor league deal, according to the Mercury News.

Our View:Wellemeyer held a dismal 5.89 ERA and 1.77 WHIP over 122.1 innings (21 starts) with St. Louis in 2009, and the 31-year-old hurler is unlikely going to get a strong deal elsewhere.

The New York Post is reporting that the Mets could sign former Cardinals pitcher Todd Wellemeyer.

Our View:So this is what happens when you strike out on literally every single free agent pitcher that didn't have a 5.89 ERA in 2009? This being the Mets we're talking about, however, we are probably just lucky they don't want him to play first base.

Former Cardinals starter Todd Wellemeyer says the Mets, Giants and Rockies have all expressed interest in his services this offseason, and that he expects to sign somewhere in the next few days, according to InsideSTL.com's Tim McKernan.

Our View:Wellemeyer was an unmitigated disaster for the Redbirds last season, and could have a return to the bullpen in his future. Expect any deal he signs to be a minor league one.

Todd Wellemeyer is drawing attention from the Rockies, according to Fox Sports.

Our View:Wellemeyer, who went 7-10 with 5.89 ERA in 28 games (21 starts) with the Cardinals last season, will likely serve as a middle reliever and potential insurance as a starting pitcher wherever he ends up, though the thin Colorado air certainly would not help out his numbers.
