Dioner Navarro (bruised shin) should be able to return to Tampa Bay's lineup by sometime next week, according to the St. Petersburg Times. "It wasn't as bad as I thought,'' he said. "Thank god there was no fracture, no break, no ligament (damage), just nerve trauma that caused my leg to go numb.''

Our View:Amazingly, this injury shouldn't affect his regular season status at all. He has really dodged a bullet.

Updating an earlier report, Dioner Navarro only suffered a bruised nerve in his leg during a brutal collision at the plate today, according to Marc Topkins' (St. Petersburg Times) twitter page.

Our View:This is good news, as Navarro avoided a serious injury. He is only expected to miss 2-3 days of action.

Dioner Navarro appears to have suffered a serious left leg injury on Saturday, according to the St. Petersburg Times' Marc Topkin. He was carted off the field after a collision at the plate.

Our View:Obviously, this doesn't bode well for his 2010 fantasy campaign. Kelly Shoppach might have just gotten a lot more valuable. Stay tuned.

Dioner Navarro (sprained thumb) says he will return to the field on Tuesday after getting "clipped" by an errant pickoff throw on Thursday, according to the St. Petersburg Times.

Our View:As expected, the injury ended up being not serious. With Navarro likely to find himself in a timeshare with Kelly Shoppach this season, his fantasy value is limited to AL-only leagues.

Dioner Navarro was forced from Tampa's spring training game with the Pirates on Thursday after getting "clipped" by an errant pickoff throw to first base, according to the Tampa Tribune. The injury is not believed to be serious.

Our View:Expect his status to be updated later today or early tomorrow. It's entirely possible he will not be forced to miss any time.

According to ESPN.com, the Rangers are interested in Rays catcher Dioner Navarro.

Our View:Navarro signed a one-year deal worth $2.1 million earlier this offseason, but the Rangers are desperate for veteran help behind the plate. Jarrod Saltalamacchia is still recovering from shoulder surgery and likely won't be able to catch every day, and they aren't sure if youngster Taylor Teagarden is ready to take on a sizable chunk of innings. They may be trying to pry Navarro away from the Rays through trade, but have also looked at free agents Rod Barajas, Miguel Olivo and Yorvit Torrealba.
