David Aardsma earned his 10th save of the season in Wednesday's 4-1 victory in Baltimore. He did not allow a base runner while striking out one in the appearance.

Our View:Aardsma has not allowed a run in 18 of his last 19 appearances and has been among the most reliable closers in the game over the past six weeks. He appears to have a firm grasp of the Mariners closers job and we expect him to remain there for the remainder of the season.

According to MLB.com, Mariners closer David Aardsma was not used in the team's 4-2 win over the Twins on Sunday to save his arm.

Our View:The Mariners have been involved in a ton of close games lately and they're just being cautious that they don't overwork their young closer. After an off day on Monday he'll be rested and available for Tuesday's game.

David Aardsma blew his fist save of the year and was tagged with his second loss, giving up three runs off two hits and four walks after entering the game with a two-run lead over the Angels.

Our View:Aardsma was a perfect 8-for-8 before Sunday and is not in any immediate danger of losing his closing role given how ineffective Brandon Morrow has continued to pitch.
May 24, 2009
David Aardsma recorded his sixth save of the season on Sunday in the Mariners' 5-4 win over the Giants. He tossed a scoreless ninth, allowing just one hit and striking out two.

Our View:Aardsma has been spectacular this season after taking over for Brandon Morrow in the closer's role. He has yet to blow a save opportunity and has a sparkling 1.25 ERA with more than a K per inning.
April 25, 2009
David Aardsma picked up his third save of the season as the Mariners beat the Angels 9-8 on Saturday. However, he allowed a two-run blast to Torii Hunter before recording the final out.

Our View:It appears that the Mariners are still not using Brandon Morrow on back to back nights, meaning Aardsma will continue to see save opportunities. Tonight marked the first runs he has allowed in eight games. He should be among the more valuable fantasy middle men due to his situation.
