Player Notes
August 24, 2008
Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano had a nice game in his team's 8-7 win over the Orioles. Cano went 4-for-5 with a home run and two RBI while scoring two runs.

Our View:Cano is hitting .299 in August, and has seven multi-hit games on the month. He has had a solid last two months and despite his early struggles, is on his way to putting up respectable numbers for fantasy owners.
August 16, 2008
Robinson Cano wetn 2-for-6 with a triple, two runs, and an RBI in Saturday's 3-2 win over the Royals. He is hitting .327 since the All-Star break.

Our View:Cano's numbers remain well below what fantasy owners expected heading into the season, but a very strong finish could help ease some of the anger.
August 7, 2008
Robinson Cano got three hits and raised his average to .266 in the Yankees win over Texas.

Our View:Cano has seen his average climb steadily since he was under .200 as late as the middle of May. But he has returned to provide solid fantasy punch.
August 3, 2008
Yankees second baseman Robinson Cano was held out of the Yankees' lineup for a second consecutive game on Sunday, still protecting a bruised and swollen left hand that has impacted his hitting, according to MLB.com.

Our View:The second baseman received more treatment for the injury, which he believes traces back to being busted inside with a cutter by Boston's Jon Lester one week ago at Fenway Park. Cano said the pain affects him most while batting and is located on the meaty part of the palm. Cano is batting .344 (21-for-61) in 14 games since the All-Star break, but was 3-for-22 in the five games since he suffered the injury. The tentative plan is for Cano to rest all day Sunday and then take batting practice before Monday night's game at Texas.
August 2, 2008
Robinson Cano was not in today's lineup against the Angels due to an unspecified hand injury, according to The Sports Network.

Our View:Wilson Betemit started at second in place of Cano. No word on what the injury is yet, but we'll keep you updated.
