The Diamondbacks have officially signed Adam LaRoche to a one-year, $4.5 million deal.

Our View:The deal includes a $7.5 million mutual option for 2011. If LaRoche has another good season in 2010, expect him to opt out and try to actually get the big bucks next offseason.

The Diamondbacks have apparently signed Adam LaRoche to a one-year deal, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Dejan Kovacevic.

Our View:LaRoche assumes the starting first base gig in Arizona and completes a revamped infield for the D'Backs. A perennially overlooked fantasy player, LaRoche has averaged just above 25 home runs and 85 RBI over the past four seasons and should continue to be a nice source of cheap power at first base.

According to Buster Olney on Twitter, Adam LaRoche turned down a two-year $17 million deal from the Giants.

Our View:This is a deal that LaRoche probably should have taken, but the Giants have reportedly already yanked it off the table. He lost out on a shot with the Mariners when they picked up Casey Kotchman, and the Giants and Orioles may be the only two remaining teams interested. He may have to suck it up and take less money than he's demanding.

Adam LaRoche is believed to be seeking a three-year, $30 million contract, according to MASN.

Our View:No wonder Atlanta decided to go the Troy Glaus route. While LaRoche had an undeniably fine season between the Pirates, Red Sox and Braves in 2009, he has been far too slow-starting and inconsistent over his career to command that kind of deal. Expect his asking price to come down in the coming weeks.

Adam LaRoche could be drawing interest from the Mariners, according to the Seattle Times.

Our View:After a typically slow start last season (.250 batting average before the All-Star break), LaRoche had a torrid second half, finishing up with a solid triple crown line of .277/25/83. He could be a good fit a lot of places.
