Luis Ayala could be recalled by the Marlins, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View:The club needs a long-reliever, as Cristhian Martinez and Brian Sanches have each have more than two innings over the past two days. They are also considering Tim Wood as a fresh arm for the pen.

Marlins reliever Luis Ayala was optioned to Triple-A after the Marlins' 3-2 win over the Phillies Firday night.

Our View:Ayala was initially a candidate to close out game when Matt Lindstrom went on the DL, but he has struggled recently and now takes hi 1-4 record and 4.99 ERA to Triple-A.

The Palm Beach Post is reporting that Marlins' manager Fredi Gonzalez has said that he may use reliever Luis Ayala to close games while Matt Lindstrom is out. Ayala could be tossed in the mix with Leo Nunez and Dan Meyer to pitch the ninth inning.

Our View:Ayala has quite a bit more experience closing than Nunez, but it seems doubtful that one guy will get all of the save chances with Lindstrom out. If Ayala starts to pick up saves consistently he could be worth a look, but not until then.

The South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting that the Marlins have recalled pitcher Luis Ayala from Triple-A New Orleans. He will take the roster spot of the recently demoted Sean West.

Our View:Ayala was recently signed by the team, and the Marlins feel like he has been throwing the ball well in Triple-A. He is not a fantasy option, but he should help stabilize the Marlins' bullpen.
July 2, 2009
The Florida Marlins have signed recently released pitcher Luis Ayala, according to Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Our View:He is expected to pitch a few games in Triple-A New Orleans before joining the big club. The vet righty has a 4.18 ERA in 32.1 innings this season. He's not a great option in leagues with holds or middle relievers.
