The Florida Marlins have signed recently released pitcher Luis Ayala, according to Juan C. Rodriguez of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Our View:He is expected to pitch a few games in Triple-A New Orleans before joining the big club. The vet righty has a 4.18 ERA in 32.1 innings this season. He's not a great option in leagues with holds or middle relievers.

The Minneapolis Star-Tribune reports that the Twins have released reliever Luis Ayala.

Our View:The Pirates were interested in Ayala's services for relief help, but neither side could work out a deal and Ayala was let go. He was DFAed on June 22nd, but is now a free agent and can sign with any club.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, the Pirates are interested in recently DFAed Twins' pitcher Luis Ayala.

Our View:Ayala had a 4.18 ERA in 28 appearances for the Twins and could help out a struggling Pirates pen. They wouldn't have to give up much to get him either. Ayala could vie for an eighth inning spot setting up for closer Matt Capps.

According to the Associated Press, the Twins have designated relief pitcher Luis Ayala for assignment. Ayala was 1-2 with a 4.18 ERA in 28 appearances this season.

Our View:The Twins signed Ayala in hopes that he would develop into a solid setup man, but that just never happened. He holds no fantasy value unless he ends up in a situation where he is used as a setup man. Even then, his value would be limited.
February 19, 2009
Luis Ayala's deal with the Twins has been finalized, according to the Associated Press. His one-year deal is worth $1.3MM.

Our View:Ayala is competing to be the Twins' setup man, potentially giving him some fantasy value in leagues that award points for holds.
