Shane Victorino's three year, $22 million contact extension with the Phillies is now official, according to David Murphy of the Philadelphia Inquirer. The deal buys out his final two seasons of arbitration eligibility.

Our View:The Gold Glove outfielder will try to lead Philadelphia to its third-straight pennant in 2010 on the back of his hard-charging offensive game. In 2009, he hit .292 with 62 RBI, 25 steals and 102 runs scored.

Shane Victorino has agreed to a new three-year deal with the Phillies worth $22MM, according to NBC Sports.

Our View:Victorino is a Gold Glove winner, and batted .292 in 2009, with 62 RBI and 25 stolen bases. He also scored 102 runs. The talented outfielder will help the Phillies make another run at the World Series in 2010.

Shane Victorino is in the Phillies' lineup for Game 6 on Wednesday, according to the Twitter page of beat writer Todd Zolecki. X-Rays on his index finger were negative.

Our View:Victorino wasn't going to let a little finger injury keep him out of the World Series, so there was never really any doubt he would play tonight. The Phils have their full lineup in tact, and they are ready to try and take this series to Game 7.
November 3, 2009
Shane Victorino expects to play in game six of the World Series on Wednesday despite the bruised finger he suffered in game five, according to MLB.com.

Our View:The contusion he suffered after getting hit by an A.J. Burnett pitch in the first inning on Monday made it hard for him to grip a bat, but the swelling should be down by game time Wednesday. Victorino is a gamer, and will surely play.
October 21, 2009
Shane Victorino had another big night for the Phillies on Wednesday as they clinched another NL title with their 10-4 win over the Dodgers. Victorino went 2-for-4 with a home run, a run scored, and three RBI in the win.

Our View:Vicorino has been absolutely destroying the ball this postseason, and his average is at .368 in the playoffs. When Victorino is hitting, especally the long ball, the Phils stand a very good chance of winning games. He will need to carry this hot streak over to the World Series.
