Player Notes
July 27, 2008
Catcher Guillermo Quiroz went 3-for-4 with three RBI in the Orioles 5-2 win over the Angels on Sunday.

Our View:Aberration. Quiroz is still backing up Ramon Hernandez. The big game brings his average to .225 and his RBI total to 11. No need to consider picking him up at this point.
April 4, 2008
Guillermo Quiroz looks to be in line to serve as Adam Loewen's personal catcher this season, according to the Baltimore Sun. Ramon Hernandez's backup will be behind the plate tomorrow if this turns out to be the case. Quiroz won't have any fantasy value this year, but this news is helpful for those in daily transaction leagues that want to know when to play Hernandez.
March 26, 2008
Guillermo Quiroz has been named the Orioles backup catcher to start the season, MLB.com notes. He will serve as the No. 2 behind Ramon Hernandez. Quiroz, a former Blue Jays prospect, has never been able to help fantasy teams, and this year won't likely be any different.
December 4, 2007
Guillermo Quiroz signed a one-year contract with the Orioles on Monday. He hit .276 in 71 games at Triple-A last year, and he'll serve in a backup role for Baltimore in 2008.
April 5, 2007
Guillermo Quiroz has cleared waivers and accepted an outright assignment to Triple-A Oklahoma, according to the Dallas Morning News.
