Our View:He has gone five straight starts without a win, and should remain an unstable fantasy option.

Joe Blanton alloweed two earned runs on six hits over seven innings in Wednesday's 7-1 loss at Tampa Bay. He issued two walks and racked up 10 strikeouts.

Our View:It was a solid outing for Blanton, but he was unfortunately dealt a loss due to poor run support from his teammates. He falls to 4-4, and is winless over his last four starts. On the positive side, he reached double digits in strikeouts for the second time this season.

Joe Blanton only allowed two earned runs on five hits over seven innings in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Red Sox at Citizens Bank Park. He had two walks and fired seven strikeouts.

Our View:Blanton pitched well, but was forced to take a no-decision due to poor run support from his teammates. He has not taken a loss over his last six outings, and has three wins over the span.

Joe Blanton pitched an excellent game on Saturday, but he did not factor into the decision as the Phillies fell to the Dodgers 3-2 in 12 innings. Blanton went six innings and allowed one run on five hits while walking one and striking out five.

Our View:Blanton hasn't been great for the most part this year, but every few starts he finds a way to go out and shut down the opposing offense. NL-only owners should give him a look, but his inconsistency is keeping him from having value in mixed leagues.

Our View:Blanton has now won three straight starts, with two of those wins coming on the road. He gave up 16 earned runs over five starts in May, but only suffered one loss over that span due to strong run support from the potent Phillies' offense.
