Player Notes
September 6, 2008
Nick Swisher is starting in left field in place of the injured Carlos Quentin today against the Angels, according to the Chicago Tribune. Ken Griffey Jr. is roaming center field with Jermaine Dye in right.

Our View:Swisher is going to see action in left field the rest of the way. He remains in a hitting slump as he only registered two hits over his last six games.
August 31, 2008
Nick Swisher went 0-for-4 for the White Sox, but the team still found a way to beat the Boston Red Sox by a score of 4-2.

Our View:Swisher has been an incredible disappointment from the start of the season on, and has hit under .225 every month of the season except one. Fantasy owners should not expect anything to change in September.
August 26, 2008
Nick Swisher left Tuesday's game against Baltimore at Camden Yards after fouling a pitch off of his left leg during a 4th-inning at-bat, according to MLB.com. Swisher was diagnosed with a lower left leg contusion and is listed as day-to-day.

Our View:Swisher contributed to an early 6-0 lead for the White Sox by launching a two-run home run in the first, his 22nd of the season. He hobbled back to the dugout after striking out in the fourth and was replaced by Brian Anderson in the bottom of the inning.
August 11, 2008
Nick Swisher was the lone White Sox batter to produce two hits on Monday night as he went 2-for-3 at the plate to raise his average to .234.

Our View:Swisher is just 12 for his last 57 (.211) and was in the eighth hole on this night. He has been a pretty big disappointment in Chicago after many assumed he would have a big year moving to a home park that so clearly favors the hitter. It just hasn't happened.
August 6, 2008
Nick Swisher didn't start the game on Tuesday night, but he ended it with a three-run homer in the bottom of the 14th inning. The White Sox beat the Tigers 10-8.

Our View:Swisher has seen his playing time reduced since the Ken Griffey trade, but he will still rotate into the lineup and get pinch-hit chances. He still has a spot in AL-only formats.
