The Baltimore Sun reports that Orioles prospect Adam Loewen completed a throwing program in Florida and is not expected to need surgery for his torn labrum. Loewen reportedly used all of his pitches, and he's likely to begin throwing again in January. Loewen will not be a candidate for the major league team this spring.

Orioles pitching prospect Adam Loewen has been diagnosed with a torn labrum, according to the Baltimore Sun. He'll be placed on a five week throwing program with the hope that he will be ready for spring training. However, surgery remains a possibility and that would knock him out for 8-12 months.

Orioles 2002 first-round pick Adam Loewen left his previous two starts with a pitching shoulder injury, according to the Baltimore Sun. He'll likely undergo an MRI next week when examined by the Orioles' physician. "I guess I'm a little worried, but I really believe it's nothing major," Loewen said.

The Orioles are prepared to place pitching prospect Adam Loewen on the disabled list with a strained muscle in his left rib cage. He's missed his last two starts for Single-A Delmarva with the injury. He was the fourth overall pick of the 2002 draft.
