Pitcher John Koronka has signed a minor-league contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The deal includes an invite to the team's major league spring training.

Our View:Koronka was last seen posting an 11.05 ERA in 7.1 innings for the Marlins last season. Those 7.1 innings are the only major league ones he's thrown since 2007. Don't expect this marriage to end in a major league roster spot.

John Koronka has been designated for assignment by the Marlins, according to MLBblogs.com.

Our View:The 28-year-old hurler failed to save his job as he allowed six runs (four earned) and four walks in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers. He allowed nine earned runs over two starts, and did not belong on fantasy rosters.
May 17, 2009
John Koronka allowed six runs (four earned) on four hits on only 2.2 innings of work in Sunday's 12-5 loss to the Dodgers. He issued four walks with two strikeouts.

Our View:He has lost both of his starts this season, and allowed nine earned runs over the span. Koronka should not be employed in any fantasy leagues right now.

John Koronka is expected to be recalled from Triple-A New Orleans, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:It is also expected that he will start Tuesday's game against the Brewers. Koronka holds a poor 6.02 career ERA in the majors, and would only be worth a look as a flier for deeper NL-only leagues.
May 10, 2009
John Koronka may get the start on Tuesday in place of the injured Anibal Sanchez, according to the Miami Herald.

Our View:Koronka's name was removed from the Triple-A projected starter's list, so he may be coming to Florida. He has no fantasy value at this point, as he will only be a fill-in starter at best.
