Despite rumors to the contrary, the Rockies do not plan on trading Brad Hawpe and his $7.5 million 2010 salary this offseason, according to InsideTheRockies.com.

Our View:Hawpe was an All-Star last season, but struggled down the stretch, and started just one of four Rockies' playoff games. But after hitting .284 with 23 home runs and 86 RBI on the season, the Rox insist he is still in their long-term plans.

The AP reports that All-Star outfielder Brad Hawpe has been replaced in the lineup by Ryan Spilborghs for Sunday's Game 3 between the Rockies and Phillies. Spilborghs will hit seventh.

Our View:Hawpe will be available off of the bench, but manager Jim Tracy felt Spilborghs was a better option against left-hander J.A. Happ. Hawpe has struggled throughout most of the second half of the season.
October 4, 2009
Brad Hawpe went 2-for-2 with his 23rd home run of the season in a 5-3 loss to the Dodgers on Sunday.

Our View:The All Star outfielder was a beast in the first half, hitting .320 with 14 homers and 59 RBI, but he fizzled drastically after the break. Since the mid-summer classic he hit under .240 with nine homers and just 27 RBI.
September 27, 2009
Brad Hawpe went 2-for-3 and popped a two-run homer against Adam Wainwright in the Rockies 6-3 loss to the Cardinals on Saturday.

Our View:Hawpe was bumped to seventh in the order before the game due to his recent offensive struggles, but was the most productive bat for the Rockies in the game. Perhaps Jim Tracy's strategy worked. It was Hawpe's first homer since August 29th.
September 26, 2009
According to the Denver Post, Brad Hawpe has been dropped to seventh in Saturday's batting order.

Our View:Hawpe has struggled recently (.146 September average) and was lifted for a pinch hitter in Friday's win over the Cardinals. Looks like the Rockies want to pull out all the stops and lock up the Wild Card.
