Our View:The Yankees struggle against left-handed pitching and were unable to do much damage to the Tigers veteran. Rogers lowered his 6.27 ERA to 5.82.
April 29, 2008 Kenny Rogers only lasted 3.1 innings in his last outing against Texas as he got rocked for six runs on nine hits, and will be looking to rebound tonight when he makes his next start against the Yankees, according to MLB.com. It won't be easy for him, as he holds a 5-7 record with a 6.45 ERA over his career in the regular season against New York, a team that he played for from 1996-1997.
Our View:Rogers is namely having control issues right now as only 44 of his 73 pitches against Texas went for strikes in his last start, and he should remain on your bench tonight. He is 1-3 with a 7.66 ERA and 1.91 WHIP for the season.
April 23, 2008 At first glance, we would think veteran starter Kenny Rogers would have enjoyed the 6-19 victory over the Texas Rangers, but the Detroit hurler failed to get his team off on the right foot and left without a decision. Rogers lasted just 3 1/3 innings, surrendering six runs (all earned) on nine hits. Rogers threw 73 pitches (44 for strikes) in that short outing, surrendering three walks and earning no strike outs.
Our View:Rogers has allowed way too many runs over his last three starts: 17 runs surrendered, ALL EARNED. That's a problem.
