David DeJesus is out of the lineup for the seventh straight game Wednesday, according to the Kansas City Star.

Our View:The outfielder is dealing with the flu, and is expected to return to the diamond this weekend.

According to the Kansas City Star, Royals' outfielder David DeJesus missed his fifth straight game on Tuesday due to the flu. The team expects DeJesus to return to the team for their final series of the season against the Twins this weekend.

Our View:DeJesus is reportedly feeling better, but there is no need for the team to rush him back this late in the season. Expect him to return to the lineup in the next few days, and for sure by this weekend.

MLB.com reports that David DeJesus is not in Thursday's lineup as he's suffering from a sore left knee.

Our View:DeJesus is red hot right now, so it was a tough call for manager Trey Hillman to sit him, but the knee has taken some abuse lately and he badly needs a day off. DeJesus was hit on the knee by a pitch Wednesday and flipped in to the stands in Tuesday's game. He's in the midst of a 16-game hitting streak, so expect him back shortly.

David DeJesus went 2-for-3 in the leadoff spot Saturday night, but couldn't get enough offense going, as Kansas City lost 13-6 in Cleveland.

Our View:With 12 home runs and 67 RBI in 136 games this season, DeJesus should establish new career highs in both categories. The 12 homers have already tied his best home run total, while the 67 RBI are just six short.

David DeJesus was productive in tonight's 9-4 loss to Oakland at Kauffman Stadium, as he went 3-for-5 with two RBI. He hit a single, double and a triple.

Our View:DeJesus was in need of a solid performance, as he was 1-for-9 over his previous three games. He now has 51 RBI, ranking second on the Royals behind Billy Butler (54).
