Player Notes
September 4, 2008
Oliver Perez has pitched very well of late allowing two or fewer earned runs in 11 of his last 17 starts as he heads toward a big payday this off-season as one of the biggest arms on the free agent market, according to the New York Post.

Our View:Guess who his agent is? Yep, Scott Boras. Given his performance of late, and his unquestionably top shelf shelf stuff, the 27 year old Perez will likely be looking for at least $60 million on a five year deal according to the report. Will the Mets pony up the dinero to keep him in the fold?
September 3, 2008
Oliver Perez collected his tenth win of the season as the Mets defeated the Brewers 9-2 Wednesday. Perez scattered two runs off five hits and five walks in 6.2 innings of work.

Our View:Perez continues to be a solid option for the Mets. He now has posted a quality start in 11 of his last 13 starts.
August 24, 2008
Mets LHP Oliver Perez watched a good outing go to waste today as his Mets fell 6-4 to the Astros. Perez pitched 6 1/3 innings, allowing four runs (all earned) on four hits with one walk and eight strikeouts.

Our View:Perez walked with no decision as the relief pitching gave way. Over his last four starts Perez is 2-0 with 26 1/3 innings pitched for 10 combined earned runs, 12 walks, 27 strikeouts, and no homers surrendered.
August 14, 2008
Oliver Perez struck out eight batters in 6.2 innings while allowing just three runs to pick up his ninth win of the season in the Mets 9-3 win over the Nationals.

Our View:Perez June 24, Perez has given up more than three earned runs just one time. He has been throwing extremely well and has a place in all fantasy formats.
August 8, 2008
Oliver Perez allowed just two hits in seven shutout innings against the Marlins on Friday night. Perez improved to 8-7 in lowering his ERA to 3.90.
