Josh Barfield has been outrighted to the minors by the Indians, according to TSN.

Our View:The 26-year-old infielder batted .400 over 20 at-bats with Cleveland this season, but did not see enough action to hold any fantasy value.

MLBlogs.com is reporting that the Indians have optioned infielder Josh Barfield to Triple-A Columbus to make room for the activation of new addition Chris Perez. Barfield is 8-for-20 with the Indians this season.

Our View:Barfield was just a reserve with the Tribe, so no fantasy impact here. Although he was decent when given the chance this season, Barfield only managed those 20 at-bats. Don't look for him to have any fantasy value this season.

The Sports Network is reporting that Josh Barfield has been recalled from Triple-A Columbus to take the roster spot of Asdrubal Cabrera, who was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Wednesday.

Our View:Barfield has had only three major league at-bats this season, but he has gotten a hit in all three and is a career .263 hitter. Still, he should be considered little more than a spot-starting option, and only then if he is hot.

Josh Barfield has been sent back down to Triple-A Columbus by the Cleveland Indians to make room for the newly activated Jamey Carroll, reports the Miami Herald. Barfield appeared in five games for the Indians before being sent down and was 3-for-3 in those games.

Our View:Barfield has been quite a bust since his breakout rookie year, and at this point it is doubtful he will ever be a fantasy impact player. Fantasy owners should stay away even if he comes back up.

Josh Barfield went 2-for-2 for the Indians in extra innings on Monday night, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Barfield has never recovered since a standout rookie season (.280-13-58-72-21), but he is hitting .611 in 18 career at-bats in extra innings. Too bad there isn't a category for that in fantasy. His value remains exceedingly low as nothing more than a backup infielder with the Tribe.
