Player Notes
March 10, 2010
Coco Crisp is day-to-day with a strained hamstring, according to the San Francisco Chronicle's Susan Slusser.

Our View:This does not appear to be anything to worry about, although it's always a bit troublesome when a chronically hurt player can't even stay healthy in the early stages of spring training. Know that drafting Crisp comes with the risk of injury.
March 6, 2010
Coco Crisp went 2-for-3 with a single and a double in today's preseason game against the Angels.

Our View:Crisp worked in the DH spot, as he is coming off shoulder surgery. He should be ready to start in center field for opening day, barring a setback with his shoulder.
February 24, 2010
Coco Crisp will work in the DH role in the first week of exhibition games, according to MLB writer Jane Lee's twitter page.

Our View:Crisp will not roam in the outfield to give his surgically-repaired shoulder a rest. His hitting is ahead of schedule, and is projected to start in center field for opening day, barring a setback.
December 23, 2009
Coco Crisp has come to terms with Oakland on a one-year, $4.5 million deal, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Our View:The deal also includes a club option for 2011. Crisp should join Rajai Davis as one of the first two batters in Oakland's lineup, and along with Ryan Sweeney, gives the A's a fine set of defensive outfielders. While Crisp struggled with a .228 batting average with Kansas City last season before his season ended due to shoulder surgery, he was still able to post an at least decent .336 OBP, and could be a decent source of cheap speed in fantasy drafts.
December 22, 2009
Coco Crisp's physical is being delayed, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.

Our View:The veteran outfielder is having a tough time getting a flight from his home in the Palm Springs area to Phoenix, where the physical is to be conducted. Crisp underwent surgery on both shoulders this year, but is expected to be ready to go for training camp. He is believed to be close to a one-year deal with the Athletics, assuming he checks out fine following his exam.
