Player Notes
July 11, 2008
The Boston Herald reports that Coco Crisp is out of Friday's lineup due to a sore forearm.

Our View:Crisp has not played since Monday, and owners should not count on him until he is back in the lineup.
July 3, 2008
Coco Crisp has completed his suspension and returned to the Boston Red Sox lineup for tonight's game against the Yankees, according to the Boston Globe. Crisp will hit seventh and play center field.

Our View:Crisp retains some value in fantasy play because he can steal a base, but his other numbers leave something to be desired, especially his .313 on-base percentage. He has only walked 12 times in 196 at-bats.
June 27, 2008
The Red Sox found out on Friday that Coco Crisp's suspension was reduced from seven games to five for his part in June 5 brawl with the Rays, this according to the St. Petersburg Times. Crisp will start serving the penalty phase on Saturday in Houston.

Our View:Crisp will also, conveniently, miss the three-game series between the Red Sox and the Rays at the Trop that starts Monday.
June 26, 2008
Coco Crisp is expecting to hear from MLB’s discipline director Bob Watson either today or tomorrow regarding his appeal of a seven-game suspension he was dealt for his part in igniting the June 5 brawl with the Rays, according to the Providence Journal. Crisp said, "I assume I’ll get some kind of notification in the next couple of days, possibly today."

Our View:Crisp registered three doubles last night, and is batting .353 with seven extra-base hits in his last eight games. A suspension would take a very hot bat out of the Red Sox lineup with an important series coming up against the Rays, beginning June 30.
June 23, 2008
A decision on Coco Crisp's appeal of a seven-game suspension for his role in the June 5 bench-clearing brawl with Tampa Bay has yet to have been made, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:You should probably avoid using Crisp this week if you can just in case.
