August 22, 2008 Kyle Davies is a candidate to start in the rotation Saturday, according to the KC Star. But he can only be recalled from Triple-A Omaha to replace a player put on the DL. The DL candidate would likely be Ron Mahay, who has made just one appearance since August 6 due to an injured foot. Our View:Davies was inconsistent over 14 starts with Kansas City this season, but still had some success and looked good at times. If recalled for Saturday's start, he is worth a look in deeper AL-only leagues. |

Our View:The 25-year-old Davies will make his first appearance this season, starting Saturday night's match with Cleveland, opposite the Tribe's C.C. Sabathia. Davies made 11 starts for Kansas City last season with a 3-7 record, carrying a 6.66 earned run average over 50 innings. Davies holds a 17-28 career mark in parts of four seasons with the Atlanta Braves and Royals. He carries a 6.24 ERA in 63 career games. Pena was claimed off outright waivers from the Atlanta Braves on Friday. |
