Player Notes

According to MLB.com, Mariners' pitcher Carlos Silva is expected to return to the team Tuesday. Silva will be activated off the 60-day DL and will work out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season.

Our View:Silva had a successful rehab stint in the minors, and he feels better than he has all season. The M's won't push him too much, but he should get some innings out of the bullpen as the year goes on.

Our View:Silva is still on track, and barring a setback during his bullpen session he should join the minor league club soon after. The team would like to be able to activate him late next week, and he will be used out of the bullpen when he returns to Seattle.
