Willie Harris has agreed in principle to a one-year contract with the Rockies, according to the Denver Post.

The Rockies remain interested in Willie Harris after losing out on Junior Spivey, according to the Denver Post. Four other teams are chasing Harris. "He has told me he wants to play for Colorado," Harris' agent, Daryl Buford, said Monday night. "He likes the organization and believes his skill set would match up well there."

The White Sox recalled Willie Harris from Triple-A Charlotte to take the roster spot of the injured Joe Crede, according to the AP. Harris was hitting .275 with one homer and 10 RBI in 28 games with the Knights. He hit .217 in 92 at-bats with the Sox earlier in the year.

It appears that Willie Harris has all but lost the starting job at second base with the White Sox to Tadahito Iguchi, according to the Daily Southtown. "I don't want to say Willie is out of the picture, but he is fighting for a job," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "I think (Iguchi) is a pretty smart player. I don't have any problems with him."

The Daily Southtown reports that White Sox GM Ken Williams said Willie Harris has closed the gap with Tadahito Iguchi in the competition for the starting job at second base. Williams told manager Ozzie Guillen to play the best player and left open the possibility of a platoon. "All I know is that I have two pretty good players over there and Ozzie has the latitude to use them however he wants," Williams said.

The White Sox plan to give Willie Harris some action at shortstop this spring, according to the Daily Southtown. "It's a good opportunity for us to take a look at him," manager Ozzie Guillen said. "Hopefully, it will work out. If not, Willie is on the team until he's not there.
