Larry Bigbie, who exercised his option to become a free agent earlier this month, has signed a minor league deal with the Braves. He'll report to Triple-A Richmond, according to the LA Times. Bigbie had just six hits in 25 at-bats (.240) for the Cardinals last year, and even if he gets promoted to Atlanta, it's unlikely that he'd hold any value.

Larry Bigbie exercised his contract option to become a free agent Thursday. Bigbie's contract allowed him to opt out if he wasn't recalled to the Dodgers' major league roster by yesterday, according to the LA Times. Given that Bigbie hit .349 with three homers and 14 RBI for Triple-A Las Vegas, he may find a major league team willing to give him a shot.

Larry Bigbie is having talks with other teams to try and find a guaranteed spot on a big league roster, according to the LA Times. If Bigbie does find such a team, his agent will ask the Dodgers to do the same or release his client. "I want to stay here," Bigbie said. "If something else is out there, we'll know, but I definitely want to play for the Dodgers."

Larry Bigbie has had an excellent spring and the Dodgers have been scratching their heads trying to find a way to keep him around, the Los Angeles Times reports. Bigbie's ticket might be punched now that Jason Repko is out indefinitely with a high-ankle sprain.

Larry Bigbie was 2-for-4 with an RBI Monday. Bigbie is now hitting .359 with 11 RBI this spring as he makes a strong case to be a reserve outfielder.
