Player Notes
October 2, 2009
Edwin Encarnacion was a standout in tonight's 13-7 loss at Baltimore, as he went 1-for-5 with a three-run homer off Jason Berken.

Our View:Encarnacion swatted five homers in September, and looks to finish the 2009 campaign on a high note.
September 29, 2009
Edwin Encarnacion is out of tonight's lineup at Boston, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Encarnacion is dealing with minor tightness of his left groin. He will be re-evaluated for tomorrow's game.
September 23, 2009
Edwin Encarnacion went 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI on Wednesday, helping Toronto to a 7-3 win over Baltimore at home.

Our View:The RBI was his 18th in 34 games since coming to Toronto.
September 20, 2009
Edwin Encarnacion hit just his fourth home run since coming to Toronto on Sunday, but it went for naught, as Toronto lost 3-1 in Tampa Bay.

Our View:Encarnacion is now batting an abysmal .213 in 73 games split between the Blue Jays and Reds in 2009, and has a very uncertain major league future. He might not get a starting job in 2010.
September 6, 2009
Edwin Encarnacion picked up his first two RBI on Sunday since being activated off of the disabled list, helping the Jays destroy the Yanks 14-8 at home.

Our View:Don't expect many more RBI down the stretch, however, as Encarnacion has struggled to keep his average too far north of .200 this season, and does not look like the same player that knocked in 76 runs in 2007.
