David Wright did his part to contribute to New York's 5-4 win over Atlanta by going 3-for-4 with a home run. Wright also scored three runs, his last was the game-winner coming in the bottom of the ninth.

Our View:David Wright is a fantasy force. He now has 25 homeruns to go along with his team-leading 98 RBI.
August 20, 2008
David Wright did his part to contribute to New York's 6-3 win over Atlanta by going 1-for-3 with a home run.

Our View:Wright now has 97 RBI, and fantasy owners could realistically expect him to wind up with 130 or more for the year.
August 13, 2008
Mets third baseman David Wright does not have a quality match-up tonight when he and his squad face off against the Nationals and hurler Jason Bergmann. Wright is only 1-for-14 in his career off Bergmann, and has been struck out six times.

Our View:Wright has a seven-game hitting streak going, so one of these trends will come to a halt. Fantasy owners should keep him in their lineup, but don't be surprised if he has a difficult time of it this evening.
August 7, 2008
David Wright went 3-for-5 and hit a game-winning two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Padres Thursday at Shea Stadium.

Our View:That was Wright's 21st homer of the season, snapping an eight game drought.
July 27, 2008
David Wright went 3-for-5 with a pair of RBI in Sunday's 9-1 win over the Cardinals at Shea Stadium. He hit two singles and a solo homer

Our View:He recorded his 20th homer of the season, and now has 11 hits over his last six games.
July 19, 2008
David Wright had three hits, including his 19th homer of the year, in the Mets' loss to the Reds Saturday.

Our View:Wright's steals have been down, but he's on pace to set a new career high in homers this year.
July 17, 2008
David Wright hit a two-run home run in the ninth to give the Mets their 10th straight win on Thursday over the Reds. Wright finished the game 2-for-5 with four RBI.

Our View:Wright's numbers will increase with the continued improvement of the rest of the team.
July 11, 2008
David Wright will replace Alfonso Soriano on the NL All-Star roster, according to the AP. Soriano will not be able to participate due to his left hand injury, but will still attend the All-Star festivities.

Our View:Wright was a candidate for the All-Star final vote, as he belted 17 homers with 70 RBI over 91 games.
July 7, 2008
David Wright homered and drove in four runs as the Mets defeated the Phillies 10-9 on Monday night at Citizen Bank Park.

Our View:Wright has 17 home runs, 70 RBI, 56 runs scored and nine stolen bases on the season.
July 5, 2008
David Wright started on Friday despite a sore left groin that caused him to leave Thursday's contest early, the New York Daily News notes. He went 0-for-3 with a walk and an RBI on Friday.

Our View:It sounds like this ailment is very minor. Fantasy owners shouldn't be too concerned.
July 1, 2008
The Mets found the offense needed to post the 7-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals this evening, an effort led by the illustious third baseman David Wright . Wright went 3-for-4 with a walk, his 20th double and his 16th home run of the season to total one RBI and two runs scored.

Our View:Wright is now hitting .288 on the season, and while his power numbers fell in June (just four homers compared to seven in May), his run production is up (24 RBIs in June versus 17 in May).
June 27, 2008
David Wright went 4-for-5 with three RBI in the Mets 15-6 victory over the Yankees. He is 6-for-8 in his last two games.

Our View:Wright is certainly capable of stretches of dominance. He hasn't had a great June, but if his last two games are any indication, he could end the month well and start to take off in July.
June 25, 2008
David Wright hit home runs in each of his first two AB a night after being benched for the first time this season as the Mets defeated the Mariners 8-2.

Our View:Wright really could use a big night like this after entering the game with a sickly .241 average and just a single home run in 21 June appearances. You can only keep a good man down for so long you know.
June 24, 2008
David Wright is expected to be held out of the Mets' lineup for the first time in 2008 tonight, according to the NY Post. Wright said, "Jerry knows the game. I'll get a blow and hopefully come back refreshed."

Our View:The move comes a night after Wright made a costly second-inning error that loaded the bases for Felix Hernandez, who shockingly hit a grand slam off of Johan Santana. Wright also went 0-for-3 last night, and is only hitting .241 (20-for-83) in June. He should benefit from a night off. Fernando Tatis is likely to roam third base in his place.
June 15, 2008
David Wright went 3-for-4 and picked up his 50th RBI of the season in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Rangers in the late game of a double-header.

Our View:Wright has notched an RBI in three straight games, and has 10 so far in June, but was only hitting .220 in the month prior to tonight's strong outing.
June 10, 2008
The Mets suffered the 9-5 loss to Arizona this evening despite third baseman David Wright 's attempts to get things right. Wright went just 1-for-5 at the plate but made the one hit good for his 12th homer of the season, totaling two RBIs on the night.

Our View:Wright is hitting just .258 through early June after going .287 in May. This was his first home run since May 29th.
May 29, 2008
David Wright went deep twice off Brad Penny on his way to a four RBI day on Thursday for the Metropolitans.

Our View:Wright hit more home runs in this game than he had over his last 11. Hopefully this is the start of an extended run for Wright who has done well this year, but not to the level of a top-5 pick that he was in most drafts.
May 17, 2008
David Wright went 3-for-5 with two RBI and blasted his eighth homer of the season in Saturday's 7-4 win over the Yankees.

Our View:Wright raised his average to .279 and has 34 RBI over 40 games. He registered his sixth stolen base in today's victory as well.
May 7, 2008
David Wright had a hit and two RBI for the Mets in their 12-1 victory over the Dodgers.

Our View:Wright is hitting a sickly .262, though don't forget that he was hitting .246 on this date last year before going on a tear to hit .325. Given that, he's a lock to bat .340 this year right?
April 30, 2008
David Wright continues to struggle at the dish as he went 0-for-2 to drop his batting average to .281.

Our View:Just 10 games ago Wright was hitting .359, but since then he has gone 6-for-35 (.171). He will obviously pull out of this soon, but since you can't bench him given his potential to explode at any time, you just have to hope the slump is nearing its end.
April 19, 2008
David Wright had two hits and two RBI to raise his average to .344 on the season.

Our View:Wright now has 19 RBI in just 16 games, and he appears intent on justifying his top-5 fantasy selection. So far, so good.
April 18, 2008
David Wright went 4-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI to up his season average to .333.

Our View:So much for the slow start. Wright now has 17 RBI through 15 games including 10 in his last six starts. A top-10 fantasy season seems in the cards, baring injury, for the Mets third sacker.
April 15, 2008
It looks like Mets 3B David Wright should go on David Letterman every night. He was a guest on the late-night talk show yesterday and today he hit the field, going 3-for-4 at the plate with one walk, no strike outs, a total of FIVE RBIs, and two runs scored.

Our View:Wright recorded a double and his fourth homer of the season.
April 13, 2008
David Wright has hit the 100th home run of his career today, taking an offering from Milwaukee’s Jeff Suppan to deep left-center field in the bottom of the 1st inning.

Our View:Wright’s third homer of the season got the Mets back in bright hopes after giving up two runs in the top half of the inning and gave Wright his 10th RBI of the season.
April 3, 2008
David Wright has a 20-game hit streak, dating back to September 19 of 2007, according to the Sports Network. Wright is off to a solid start in 2008 as he extended the streak by going 3-for-5 against Florida on Wednesday.
April 2, 2008
David Wright, in what will likely be the first of many huge games this season, went 3-for-5 with two runs scored and three RBI on Wednesday. Wright, who totaled just six RBI all of last April, already has six RBI this season.
March 31, 2008
David Wright was 3-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI as the Mets clubbed put a 7-2 clubbing on the Marlins. The Mets continued their running ways under manager Willie Randolph. Wright was caught stealing in his only attempt.
