Jason Bulger had his best outing of the season for the Angels on Saturday night against the White Sox. He threw three no-hit extra frames while striking out five.

Our View:Entering the game he had only made six appearances and compiled a 6.75 ERA. Allowing him to go three innings shows the Mike Sciossia has faith in the rookie yet.

Jason Bulger was called up from Triple-A in order to give the team an extra arm in the bullpen, according to the Orange County Register.

Our View:Bulger has no fantasy value, as his 7.94 ERA clearly displays.
July 23, 2008
Jason Bulger has been recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake, according to the OC Register. the Angels optioned infielder Sean Rodriguez back to Triple- A Salt Lake as the corresponding move.

Our View:Bulger was brought in to add a fresh arm to the bullpen after it worked six innings in a 3-2 win on Tuesday against the Indians. His stint with the club could be brief and he does not merit fantasy attention.

With K-Rod in a boot and nursing a sprained ankle, someone has to get the save opportunities for the Angels. Manager Mike Scioscia told MLB.com he would use the dreaded "closer committee," but the word on the street is that the LA skipper will lean on Jason Bulger . The right-hander has experienced success at the highest level in the minors. At Triple-A Salt Lake last year he recorded 10 saves in 49 appearances and finished 23 games. Bulger struck out 81, walked 24 and posted an ERA of 3.76 in 52.2 innings pitched. If Bulger is available, especially those who own Rodriguez, make a bid for his services.
