Player Notes
July 19, 2009
Gabe Gross drove in two on Sunday in the Rays' 4-3 win over the Royals. Gross went 1-for-3 with a double and the two runs batted in.

Our View:Gross is hitting .276 on the year in limited time, and he is a nice player coming off the bench for the Rays. He has four homers and 26 RBI in 63 games this season, and he should continue to produce when called upon by manager Joe Maddon.

Gabe Gross went 1-for-4 with two RBI in Sunday's 4-3 loss at New York. Both of his knocks were singles.

Our View:The Rays only mustered six hits in the loss, and B.J. Upton had their only extra-base hit with a double. Gross ended a seven-game drought with an RBI, and only has 16 for the season. Gross is not steady enough to consider outside of deeper AL-only leagues.
May 25, 2009
Gabe Gross hit his second home run in three games as the Rays fell to the Indians 11-10 on Monday. He finished the game 1-for-3 with two walks, two runs scored, and three RBI.

Our View:Gross will continue to see more at bats with Pat Burrell on the DL, but he is unlikely to be much of a factor once he returns. The seven RBI in his last three games is respectable, but fantasy owners should probably stick with the regulars.
May 22, 2009
Gabe Gross was 3-for-5 with, a double, a home run, and four RBI in Friday's 15-2 over the Marlins.

Our View:Gross is a fine hitter but he does not see enough action to warrant much fantasy attention. He figures to draw more at bats while Pat Burrell is on the DL.
March 31, 2009
Gabe Gross hit his first home run of the spring on Tuesday. It was a two-run shot and his only hit on the afternoon.

Our View:Gross has value for the Rays as a platoon player with some nice pop off the bench (13 home runs last year), but holds little to no fantasy value.
