Gavin Floyd allowed one earned run on two hits over four innings in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Brewers in the Cactus League. He fired five strikeouts with no walks.

Our View:Floyd had a solid outing, and should be headed for a quality 2010 campaign, which will be his third with Chicago. He carries a good 1.24 WHIP over the last two seasons.

Gavin Floyd only allowed two hits over two scoreless innings in today's 5-4 preseason loss to the Mariners. He had two walks with three strikeouts.

Our View:Floyd had a solid outing, despite the two free passes. The 27-year-old hurler is continuing to improve, but will be hard-pressed to meet or exceed the 17 wins he nailed down in 2008. He went 11-11 over 30 starts last season.

Gavin Floyd will miss his next scheduled start on Monday as he deals with hip inflammation, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

Our View:There is a chance he could even be shut-down. For now, the soon-to-be-activated Jake Peavy will slide into his rotation spot.

Our View:Floyd was dealt a loss for his short outing, and is now 11-11 for 2009. He is 1-4 over his last six starts, and allowed three or more earned runs four times over the span.

Our View:Floyd was dealt his 10th loss of 2009 following his poor performance from the hill. He was a disappointment after only allowing one earned run over eight innings in his last start against Boston at U.S. Cellular Field.
