Player Notes
September 2, 2009
MLB.com reports that former All Star lefty Chris Capuano pitched two scoreless innings in a rehab outing in rookie ball.

Our View:Capuano hasn't pitched since 2007 and is trying to rebound from his second Tommy John surgery. The chances of him returning to the Brewers this season are remote and he'll likely have to sign another minor league deal if he wants to try and make the club next season.
April 2, 2009
Chris Capuano has been reassigned to minor league camp by the Brewers, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:Capuano will remain in extended spring training while continuing his comeback from a second Tommy John surgery. He is hoping to join one of the minor league affiliates at some point in April to start pitching in games.
February 8, 2009
The Brewers are hopeful Chris Capuano will be able to return from his second Tommy John surgery around a month or so into the season, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

Our View:The former rising star was consistent in 2005 and 2006, and had a solid strikeout rate prior to dealing with injuries. He could be worth a look as a flier in deeper NL-only leagues.
December 16, 2008
Chris Capuano has signed a minor league deal with the Brewers, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Capuano was once a rising star but struggled to stay healthy and missed the entire 2008 campaign after undergoing Tommy John surgery. He will be invited to spring training as a non-roster player.
December 15, 2008
MLB.com reports that former All-Star left-hander Chris Capuano is close to finalizing an incentive-laden Minor League contract with the Brewers.

Our View:Capuano, an 18-game winner in 2005 and an All-Star in 2006 who missed all of '08 after his second major elbow surgery, briefly became a free agent on Friday when the Brewers chose not to tender him a contract for next season.
