Dealing with lingering knee and shoulder injuries, Freddy Sanchez will most likely begin the regular season on the disabled list, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

Our View:He isn't expected to start hitting at Spring Training for at least another week. He is still very draftable in NL-only leagues, but should probably be avoided in even deep mixed formats.

According to MLBlogs.com, infielder Freddy Sanchez (left shoulder, left knee) is expected to be ready to begin fielding ground balls by this weekend.

Our View:Sanchez had offseason surgery on the shoulder and it still isn't clear if he'll be ready to start the season on time. If he does miss some time at the beginning it won't be much, and he should quickly earn back his starting gig at second base.

Freddy Sanchez is ahead of schedule in the rehab of his surgically-repaired right shoulder, though his status for Opening Day remains iffy, according to the San Jose Mercury News' Andrew Baggarly.

Our View:Eugenio Valez or Emmanuel Burriss would be the best bet to open the season at second base should Sanchez not be ready at that point, though the Giants could also open up a spot in the outfield and play Mark DeRosa at second. Still, it seems like Sanchez won't be out for too long.
