Freddy Sanchez had two hits on Sunday to boost his season average up to .267.

Our View:Over the past 10 games Sanchez has racked up 13 hits and he is batting .351 in September and .344 since the All-Star break (.186 AB). Sanchez is hoping to prove that he is finally healthy after failing miserably to approach his batting average the past three years (.291, .344, .304).

Sanchez returned to the Pirates' lineup on Saturday after missing time with blurred vision. However, he won't play every day for the rest of the season due to the blurred vision and his nagging shoulder injury, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:Sanchez is a mediocre fantasy option for the rest of the season if he is not playing every day.

Freddy Sanchez will have his right eye examined Friday in Pittsburgh, and his return to regular duty looks doubtful until then, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. He was held out of the lineup Wednesday night after being pulled from the game Tuesday due to blurriness in the eye. The blurriness has been a nagging on-and-off problem, since he had a tiny shard of metal removed from the eye in April 2007. The shard, as Sanchez recalled, became lodged in the cornea during an April 17 game in St. Louis, though he remains unsure how.

Our View:Eye drops and other medication have allowed him to have mostly good vision in the eye, but the blurriness he experienced early in Tuesday's game was the worst he has ever experienced. The exam will be performed by Dr. Dasa Gangadhar, who is the same doctor who did the surgery.

Our View:There was no other news on Sanchez available immediately and will keep you up to date as information becomes available.
