Pedro Feliz went 1-for-3 with a run scored on Sunday against the Braves.

Our View:So far this spring, Houston's newest Astro is hitting .524. Playing in Houston's very hitter friendly stadium this season, he may still end up possessing some value in deeper mixed formats.

Pedro Feliz and the Astros have officially agreed to a one-year, $4.5 million contract, according to MLB.com.

Our View:For a team that was thought to have very little money to spend this offseason, they sure have sunk a lot into two very questionable signings (the other being Brandon Lyon's). Feliz is rapidly turning into a "defense-only" type player, and while hitting in Houston's Minute Maid Park will not be bad for his career, it probably will not be enough to make him worth it to either the Astros or fantasy owners.

Pedro Feliz and the Astros are nearing an agreement on a one-year, $4 million contract, according to ESPN's Jorge Arangure.

Our View:While Feliz would provide excellent defense to the Astros, his bat is not what the team's anemic lineup is looking for. He was already playing in a hitter's ballpark, so a move to Minute Maid Park also should not cure what ailed his 2009 on-base percentage of .308.
December 9, 2009
A number of teams, including the Twins, Astros and Orioles, have shown interest in free agent Pedro Feliz, according to ESPN's Jorge Arangure.

Our View:At 34 years of age and coming off two mediocre campaigns during his tenure with the Phillies, it's not quite clear whether teams would be looking at Feliz as a starting third baseman, or if they'd prefer him in a platoon role. Either way, he's not going to find a better situation than he had in Philadelphia as part of a loaded lineup in a hitter's ballpark, so it's tough to expect him to garner any fantasy value.
November 8, 2009
Philadelphia Phillies' beat writer Todd Zolecki is reporting on Twitter that the team has declined the 2010 option on third baseman Pedro Feliz. Feliz was scheduled to make $5.5 million next season.

Our View:Bit of a surprise here, but it looks like the Phils might look for another third baseman through free agency or a trade. If Feliz doesn't come back, look for the team to pursue a player like Adrian Beltre or possibly Dan Uggla.
