Boof Bonser worked two innings in relief of Livan Hernandez on Saturday night. Bonsor, who was moved to the bullpen earlier in the month, gave way to the return of Scott Baker to the rotation.

Our View:Bonser allwed one hit and one walk while striking out one in the Twins 5-1 loss to the Brewers.

Boof Bonser has been moved to the bullpen, as the team prepares for the return of Scott Baker to the rotation, according to the Star Tribune. Baker completed his rehab assignment, and is expected to start on Thursday.

Our View:Bonser was 2-6 with a 5.97 ERA and 1.40 WHIP over 12 starts this season, and will be better suited for a limited bullpen role. He isn't likely going to be presented with any save opportunities, and his fantasy value remains in the cellar.

With rumors of a pending move to the bullpen, in part to make room for returning starter Scott Baker and in part to stop a downward spiral of inept performance, Minnesota RHP Boof Bonser will be sent to the mound to start against the New York Yankees this evening, according to the Sports Network.

Our View:Bonser is 2-6 this season with a 6.16 ERA, but his performance against the Yankees has been especially worrisome, going 0-2 with a 9.31 ERA over his career. Manager Ron Gardenhire has avoided identifying Bonser as the odd man out for demotion or move when Baker returns, but the numbers suggest it would be the wise move to make.

The Twins adjusted their rotation on Tuesday, moving Boof Bonser from Friday to Saturday. The news suggests Bonser will head to the bullpen, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reports. Scott Baker is scheduled to come off the DL on Saturday.

Our View:Bonser has been awful lately. He probably won't like the move, but his big arm may end up playing well in a relief role.
May 27, 2008
The Minnesota Twins report RHP Scott Baker is near ready to return to the team's starting rotation, and when he does, Boof Bonser is the likely man out of a job, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Manager Ron Gardenhire spoke with the press today, deciding to keep starter Glen Perkins in his normal schedule spot as the team's starting pitcher today while pushing Bonser's next start to Saturday. That puts Bonser and Baker on the same schedule, and while Gardenhire refused to comment on Bonser and a potential move, his 0-2 record and 9.59 ERA through five May starts may be too much to ignore.
