Player Notes
August 23, 2008
The Yankees optioned Billy Traber to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Saturday.

Our View:Traber has struggled in his multiple stints with the Yanks this year, holding a 7.02 ERA.
August 10, 2008
Billy Traber has been recalled from Triple-A Scranton, according to the AP. Ian Kennedy was sent down to Scranton as the adjoining move.

Our View:Traber has been brought in to help aid an overworked Yankees' bullpen. He allowed eight earned runs over 12 innings with a 1.58 WHIP this season, and does not merit fantasy attention.
July 4, 2008
Billy Traber has been recalled by the Yankees from Triple-A, according to the Associated Press. "We felt we just needed another arm," Yankees manager Joe Girardi said.

Our View:Traber has not been good for the Yankees in his limited work this year. Do not consider him an option in fantasy leagues.
June 24, 2008
Billy Traber was optioned to Triple-A Scranton/Wlkes-Barre. He had a 5.59 ERA in 14 appearances for the Yankees.

Our View:He may not stay long. He was the last lefty reliever in their bullpen before being sent down.
June 17, 2008
The Yankees recalled Billy Traber from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Tuesday. He replaces the injured Chien-Ming Wang on the roster.

Our View:Traber held a 4.50 ERA in 11 games earlier this year with the Yankees and a 4.07 ERA in 22 games with Scranton, though he also had a nifty 25/8 K/BB rate in 24 1/3 innings at Triple-A. He'll fill a middle relief role.
