Player Notes
October 6, 2008
Manager Ozzie Guillen is leaning toward starting Mark Buehrle in the event of a Game 5 against the Rays, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Our View:Guillen wants to employ as many left-handed pitchers as possible against Tampa Bay, as they have several dangerous left-handed hitters, such as slugger Carlos Pena. Chicago currently trails 2-1 in the best-of-five series, and are set to go with Gavin Floyd in tonight's Game 4 at U.S. Cellular Field.
October 3, 2008
The Rays got to Mark Buehrle in the eighth inning of Friday night's ALDS matchup. Octavio Dotel allowed all the inherited runners to cross home plate and Buerhle was credited with allowing five earned runs and ten hits in seven innings.

Our View:Buehrle was working at a good pace as usual but battled location problems late in the game. Manager Ozzie Guillen probably left him in there a little to long on Friday.

Mark Buehrle allowed just one run over seven innings in a critical victory over the Indians on Sunday. His record improves to 15-12 with the win. He picked off his 59th career runner in the game according to the AP.

Our View:Chalk another 218.2 innings up for one of the most consistent pitchers in the AL. Buehrle has thrown over 200 innings every year he has been a starter going back to 2001. He was the White Sox best pitcher in September going 4-1 with a 2.31 ERA.
September 27, 2008
If the AL Central comes down to the last day of the season, it will be up to Mark Buehrle to help the Sox reach the playoffs. Buehrle will start Sunday on three days rest, according to the Chicago Tribune.

Our View:Buehrle has had another good year in 2008 but it all might come down to Sunday for the Sox.
September 25, 2008
The White Sox are in a battle with the Minnesota Twins for the central division and starter Mark Buehrle might start on short rest, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Buehrle's 14th win ranks second on the White Sox and if they need a win they will go back to their old stalwart.
