Player Notes
July 5, 2008
Alex Rios had three hits and two RBI, but once again the story was his legs as he swiped three basses on the night off of Mike Napoli and the Angels.

Our View:Rios, who has 21 SB, has only 29 extra base hits including a terrible total of just four home runs. All the running is somewhat helping to offset the lack of power, but at some point Rios is going to need to pick up the hitting or he will be tagged with the moniker of goat this season.
July 4, 2008
Alex Rios went 2-for-4 with an RBI in Friday's 8-2 loss to the Angels. Both hits were singles. He also racked up a pair of stolen bases.

Our View:Rios had nine multi-hit games in June, and is off to a good start in July.
June 29, 2008
Alex Rios went 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and one RBI on Sunday against the Braves. With one day left in the month, Rios is hitting .333 in June, but he has driven in only seven runs.

Our View:The last time Rios was (mostly) healthy for a month and drove in so few runs was September of 2005. We love the average, but fantasy owners need this guy to be productive across the board.
June 25, 2008
Alex Rios has had a huge week, capped off by his 4-for-6 performance Tuesday against Cincinnati. In his last five games, Rios is 10-for-23 and has scored five runs.

Our View:Rios homered Tuesday, but it was his first since May 1. So although he has raised his average from a season low .253 on May 20 to his current .280, his lack of power is disappointing.
June 20, 2008
Alex Rios went 2-for-5 on Friday night with two doubles, though he failed to score a run of knock one in.

Our View:Rios continues to be a huge disappointment to his owners with a measly three home runs at nearly the mid-point of the season. Wasn't this guy once upon the time in the home run derby?
