Nick Punto was stifled on Sunday tying a career high with four strikeouts. He’s batting .169 since he came off the disabled list.

Our View:Who thought Alexi Casilla would be missed so much?

Nick Punto returned to the Twins' lineup Tuesday following his battle with a finger injury, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:It is good news that he is back in action, but he went 0-for-4 (against the Yankees), and fantasy owners in AL-only leagues should wait until he proves to be effective again before using him.

Nick Punto, who is recovering from his finger ailment, was available to come off the Twins' bench if needed Monday, according to the Star Tribune.

Our View:He went through the full pregame workout without any issues. He has been a decent option for deeper AL-only leagues, as he holds a .324 average with 18 RBI and 13 runs scored over 36 games of action.

Nick Punto played catch and hit balls off a tee on Sunday while testing the sore knuckle on his left ring finger, according to the Star Tribune. Manager Ron Gardenhire noted that he made enough progress to possibly play Monday.

Our View:It appears that he has avoided the DL, which is good news to the club as he is hitting .324 with 18 RBI and 13 runs scored over 36 games of action.

The Twins are reporting infielder Nick Punto is likely to miss an entire weekend of action this week due to continued problems with his left ring finger, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Punto was scheduled to receive a cortisone shot in the knuckle of his sore left ring finger on Friday night. The infielder underwent an MRI and an X-ray on his finger earlier in the day, and it revealed no ligament damage or break in the bones. But the cortisone shot means it will be a couple of days before Punto can return to action, and that leaves the Twins one player short on their bench. Manager Ron Gardenhire still didn't rule out a possible stint on the disabled list for Punto, saying that the Twins will know more by how the infielder's finger feels on Saturday.
