Player Notes
August 10, 2008
Willie Bloomquist was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right hamstring, according to The Sports Network.

Our View:Bloomquist has 14 stolen bases, but with no home runs and just nine RBI, it would be tough to give him a roster spot in anything but deep AL-only leagues.
July 10, 2008
Willie Bloomquist had three hits and a stolen base for the Mariners from the leadoff spot on Thursday.

Our View:Bloomquist has been picking up more work in the field since the Mariners started juggling their lineup, and he certainly has enough speed to be considered a valuable AL only part, especially with his ability to qualify all over the field (2B, 3B, SS, OF).
April 24, 2008
Mike Morse is out for the remainder of the season following knee surgery, and Willie Bloomquist is going to see a larger role, according to The Seattle Times. Bloomquist is going to take over Morse's outfield platoon role with Brad Wilkerson.

Our View:Wilkerson is struggling with a .178 batting average and is still nursing a tight right hamstring that forced him to leave Tuesday's game, meaning Bloomquist will surely get some starts. He is worth keeping an eye on, in case he gets hot, which will merit more playing time for him.
July 25, 2007
Willie Bloomquist left the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader in the eighth inning due to leg cramps. Bloomquist, who was replaced at second base by Jose Lopez, played in all but one inning of the first game Tuesday - in center field, according to the Seattle Times.
May 14, 2007
Willie Bloomquist was not available for Sunday's game, as he was with his wife for the birth of their second child, according to the Seattle Times. The Mariners are off today, so he should be back with the team for tomorrow's contest.
