Player Notes
March 9, 2010
Aaron Harang got roughed up on Tuesday, allowing three runs on four hits and a walk in just 1.1 innings of work.

Our View:Harang took the loss as the D-Backs cruised to a 10-4 win. He has been once again named the Reds' opening day starter, but he hasn't posted a solid season since 2007. He may be worth a late flier in drafts, but don't count on elite production. The big right-hander is a low-risk option though and a potential bounce-back candidate.

The Reds have named Aaron Harang their opening day starter, according to MLB.com. It will be his fifth straight opening day assisnment.

Our View:Despite a 12-31 record the past two seasons, he is getting the nod over Bronson Arroyo and Johnny Cueto. Until further notice, both of the latter are better fantasy options.

Aaron Harang is not a lock to start for the Reds on opening day, according to the Associated Press.

Our View:Harang has been Cincinnati's opening day starter for the past four seasons, but skipper Dusty Baker noted that he is going to be open-minded regarding who will get the nod this year. Bronson Arroyo notably led the Reds with 15 wins in 2009.

Aaron Harang to the Dodgers is "not happening," according to Tim Brown of Yahoo! Sports.

Our View:This doesn't mean he isn't going somewhere else, however. Expect Cincinnati to aggressively try to unload him this offseason before he loses all value.

The Dodgers have expressed interest in dealing for Aaron Harang, according to the LA Times.

Our View:The Reds are known to be dangling Harang and would likely need to take on some portion of his lofty contract for any deal to happen. Harang's value would certainly get a nice boost if he moved from the Reds to the Dodgers.
