Player Notes
September 1, 2008
Reliever Randy Flores has been recalled from Triple-A and will join the Cardinals bullpen, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.

Our View:Flores has major control issues, walking 17 batters in 23.2 innings pitched prior to his demotion, and has no fantasy value.
July 18, 2008
The Cardinals will activate Randy Flores from the DL prior to Friday's game, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The club optioned Chris Perez to Triple-A Memphis to make room on the roster.

Our View:He held a 5.12 ERA over 19.1 innings before landing on the DL. The reliever isn't worth targeting.
July 12, 2008
Randy Flores, who is recovering from left ankle peroneal tendinitis, needs more work and will remain with Triple-A Memphis until after the All-Star break, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Manager Tony LaRussa said, "He needs to get work. He was not pitching great when he left. He could use the work."

Our View:He held a 5.12 ERA over 19.1 innings before moving to Triple-A. He won't be worth acquiring when he returns to the Cardinals' bullpen after the break.
July 9, 2008
Randy Flores, who is recovering from left ankle peroneal tendinitis, threw 11 pitches and one scoreless inning for Triple-A Memphis on Tuesday night, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. Flores was making his first rehab outing since going on the DL June 26.

Our View:He is close to returning to the Cardinals' bullpen.
July 5, 2008
Randy Flores threw a light bullpen session on Friday night after being cleared by team doctors, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch notes. The reliever is on the DL due to left ankle inflammation.

Our View:That's probably more Randy Flores news than you were expecting today, huh? The southpaw remains at least one week away from returning.
