Jason Jennings has resumed throwing after undergoing surgery on his right elbow in May, according to the Star-Telegram.

Our View:Jennings, who is soon to be a free agent, expects to be on the mound by December. He would like to remain in Texas, but will test the market.

Jason Jennings underwent surgery yesterday to repair a torn flexor tendon in his right forearm and is out for the remainder of the 2008 season, according to the Dallas Morning News.

Our View:Jennings was 0-5 with a 8.56 ERA and 1.94 WHIP over six starts this season, and held little to no fantasy value prior to today's news.

The Rangers have officially placed RHP Jason Jennings on the 15-day disabled list, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Jennings was pulled during his outing against Kansas City earlier this week after feeling a "sharp twinge" in the back of his throwing elbow. The initial diagnosis was an irritated ulnar nerve, but follow-up exams have revealed the pain is caused by forearm muscle soreness. While it appears Jennings' ulnar nerve and ligaments are fine (great news), Jennings will need rest to improve. The Rangers have recalled A.J. Murray to fill his spot in the rotation (slated to start today).

An irritated ulnar nerve in his right arm is what caused Jason Jennings to be removed from his start on Tuesday.

Our View:It sounds like Jennings will probably need some time on the DL to recover from this ailment. A.J. Murray is a candidate to replace him in the rotation.

Jason Jennings was pulled three pitches into the third inning Tuesday with an undisclosed injury. The right-hander was suffering through another poor start, allowing five runs on eight hits and a walk.

Our View:Things couldn't be going much worse for Jennings. We'll give you more specifics on the injury when we have them.

Jason Jennings will be looking for his first win of 2008 when he takes the hill against the Royals tonight, according to MLB.com. He is 0-4 with a 7.46 ERA and 1.74 WHIP over 25.1 innings, with 17 walks and 12 strikeouts. This will be his first game against Kansas City.

Our View:Jennings should not be on your fantasy team right now, and has already allowed eight homers this season.
April 24, 2008
Jason Jennings has fallen to 0-4 for the season as he allowed five runs on five hits over five innings, in Thursday's 8-2 loss to Detroit. He had four strikeouts, with five walks, and most of the damage came on three home runs.

Our View:Jennings has now allowed eight homers over five starts, and he already had a dismal 7.08 ERA and 1.67 WHIP before today's performance. He should not be on your fantasy team.
April 19, 2008
Jason Jennings pitched a solid game on Saturday as he allowed just two runs over six innings for the Rangers. Jennings earned a no-decision thanks to a blown save by Joaquin Benoit, but he allowed only three hits and two walks on the night.

Our View:Jennings has just eight K through 20.1 innings, and he has already allowed a massive five home runs on the year. Even with this solid outing, his ERA still sits at 7.08.

Jason Jennings is set to start the Rangers' home opener against Baltimore today, according to MLB.com. Jennings joins Nolan Ryan as the only Texas-born natives to start a home opener for the Rangers and he commented, "Obviously it means a lot. Going through what I did last year, I never imagined being in the spot, pitching the home opener for the home team. Everything happens for a reason, and everything I've gone through has brought me to this point. Obviously, it will be a special day to get back home after a long spring and seven days on the road. The fans are anxious to see a game, and we're anxious to play before the home fans. It will be fun." Jennings is off to a 0-1 start (with a 7.20 ERA) and he will be looking to bounce back, as he squares off against Brian Burres of Baltimore.

Jason Jennings earned his first win of the spring against Kansas City on Thursday as he only allowed two runs on six hits over 5.1 innings, with two walks and four strikeouts. Most of the damage came on a John Buck solo homer, and he favorably lowered his spring ERA to 2.12. Jennings will be looking for a fresh start after suffering through a 2-9 campaign in 2007.

Jason Jennings pitched well on Monday despite being dealt his first loss of the spring as he only allowed one run on two hits over four innings against Seattle, with two strikeouts. He lowered his ERA to 1.54 and will be looking for a fresh start after suffering through a 2-9 campaign in 2007.
March 12, 2008
Jason Jennings had a solid showing Wednesday, giving up one run on three hits and a walk while striking out four. The right-hander, who is trying to rebound from am injury-plagued, disappointing season in Houston, has allowed just the one run in three outings this spring. Texas doesn't have a favorable home ballpark for pitchers, but Jennings was in the same situation in Colorado and thrived at times there. He could be worth a late-round gamble in your league.
February 22, 2008
Jason Jennings is ready to forget an awful 2007 season that was cut short by elbow issues that limited him to just a 2-9 record with a hideous 6.45 ERA while pitching for the Astros. Jennings will take his game to the Rangers where the team will look for him to return to health. “He’s known for his sinker,” manager Ron Washington said. “It’s supposed to be turbo. He had that turbo sinker when we faced him. We just need him to stay healthy and give us a chance.” Jennings figures to be a marginal fantasy play this season given a spotty record of health, his move to the AL and the fact that he will pitch in a hitter's ballpark. He is only worth a late round flier at this point.
January 17, 2008
Jason Jennings signed a one-year contract with the Rangers on Wednesday evening, according to the Dallas Morning News. The deal is worth $4 million. Jennings was limited to just 18 starts last year due to elbow issues, and he underwent surgery in August. He should be ready for opening day, but moving to the American League - not to mention one of the game's most hitter-friendly ballparks - makes his chances of rebounding rather slim. He'll slide into the middle of the Rangers rotation.
January 11, 2008
The Rangers are close to signing free agent Jason Jennings, a source informs the Dallas Morning News. He battled elbow issues in 2007 and made only 18 starts. Jennings is a decent middle or back-end starter when he's healthy, but fantasy owners should have zero interest in him after last year.
