December 13, 2008 The Baltimore Orioles have signed catcher Chad Moeller to a minor-league contract, accoridng to Peter Schmuck of the Baltimore Sun. Our View:Moeller would simply be keeping the seat warm for uber-prospect Matt Wieters, and will have no fantasy value in any format. |

September 1, 2008 Catcher Chad Moeller will be called up by the Yankees on Monday, according to New York Newsday. He had been with the team until they acquired Ivan Rodriguez. Left-handed pitcher Phil Coke will also join the team. Our View:Moeller has no fantasy value, as he was hitting just .227 when sent down. He will simply provide depth at catcher. |

April 30, 2008 With Jorge Posada on the DL the Yankees decided to bring back Chad Moeller signing him to a contract on Wednesday, according to the AP. To make room on the roster Chris Stewart was sent to Scranton Wilkes Barre. Our View:Moeller was hitting .350 in 20 AB before the Yankees designated him for assignment, but with the placement of Posada on the DL the team was happy to be able to bring him back. Moeller will likely serve as the backup to Jose Molina until Posada returns. |
