March 17, 2010
Derrick Turnbow (shoulder) has been released by the Marlins, according to MLB.com.

Our View:Turnbow had been dealing with shoulder tendinitis throughout spring training and was in significant pain after throwing his last pitch in a scrimmage yesterday. He'll be shut down for a while and could need surgery to repair the damages, and it looks like it very well could be the end of the line for this former closer.
March 13, 2010
Derrick Turnbow managed to walk three batters in just 0.2 innings of work on Saturday.

Our View:He didn't allow a run, but still, not a very encouraging day from one of the Marlins' low-cost signings. His odds of making the team look low.
January 29, 2010
The Marlins have signed Derrick Turnbow to a minor league deal, according to ESPN's Jerry Crasnick.

Our View:Turnbow was one of the best closers in the majors with the Brewers in 2005 but has been a train wreck ever since. It's unlikely he'll get a chance to close in Florida, though he could make the team in middle relief.
January 26, 2010
The Diamondbacks are believed to be interested in Derrick Turnbow, according to Jerry Crasnick's (ESPN) twitter page.

Our View:It was previously reported that Turnbow was on Colorado's radar as well. Turnbow has a career 4.30 ERA in the majors, and neither Chase Field nor Coors Field would help his numbers if signed.
January 24, 2010
Reliever Derrick Turnbow is apparently on the Rockies radar, according to the Denver Post.

Our View:We have no idea why. Turnbow hasn't been in the majors since 2008 when he posted a 15.63 ERA in eight games with the Brewers. The Rockies should be able to find better talent.
