Player Notes
September 5, 2008
Brett Myers improved to 6-1 since the All-Star break with an excellent performance in New York on Friday. He lasted eight innings and shutout the Mets' usually productive lineup. He struck out 10 while allowing just three hits.

Our View:Myers has clealy found his stride since the break. He has not allowed a run in three of his past four starts, yielding only two runs in his last 31 innings. Expect a solid September from him.
August 30, 2008
Brett Myers was in control in Saturday's 5-2 win over the Cubs at Wrigley Field, as he only allowed two earned runs on 11 hits over seven innings, with no walks and eight strikeouts.

Our View:Myers has now won three straight decisions, and has allowed two or less earned runs in each outing. He is worth targeting for the final month of the regular season if available.
August 25, 2008
Brett Myers disappeared for the first half of the season, but he has finally reappeared, throwing seven shutout innings and striking out eight to earn his seventh win in Philadelphia's 5-0 win over the Dodgers.

Our View:In his seven starts after coming back from Triple-A, Meyers is 4-1 with a 1.68 ERA. It's possible he's still available in fantasy leagues, but after Monday's performance, he won't be for long.
August 25, 2008
Brett Myers is finally pitching like the ace he was -- and is presumed to be. He has a 1.49 ERA in his past five starts with 23 strikeouts in his last three starts (23.2 innings). The right-hander 3-1 with a 1.94 ERA in six starts since returning from a stint in Triple-A. His only losing effort came against the LA Dodgers, a game he could easily have won. Myers faces the Dodgers again tonight, and his 2.86 ERA in 11 career appearances against the Big Blue gives him a chance to continue his winning ways.

Our View:Myers has posted a fantastic 26:4 K:BB Ratio in his last 30 innings and his home runs and walks allowed have decreased significantly.
August 20, 2008
Phillies right-hander Brett Myers has continued his string of great performances since coming off the disabled list, leading Philadelphia to 4-0 victory over Washington by throwing a complete game shutout. Myers scattered nine hits on the night, but walked noone and struck out nine.

Our View:Myers is hot right now, and fantasy owners should be snatching him up off the waiver wire if he is still available. Since coming off the DL, Myers is 3-1 with a 1.97 ERA.
