Miguel Cabrera hit his first home run of the spring against Toronto on Monday.

Our View:Miggy is hitting a nifty .344 (11-for-32) so far this spring, and you knew it was just a matter of time before he started to flex his power. There are about zero reasons to think he won't again serve as one of the most productive hitters to his fantasy owners in 2010.

After a monumentally embarrassing alcohol-fueled domestic dispute with his wife during the final weekend of the season last year, Miguel Cabrera says he has given up drinking, according to Jason Beck of MLB.com.

Our View:You may remember that was the same weekend the Tigers were fighting for their playoff lives. Cabrera cleaning up his off-the-field life can obviously only mean good things for his production on it.

Miguel Cabrera will almost certainly not be traded this offseason, according to Peter Gammons on WEEI.

Our View:Gammons says Detroit's play at the beginning of next season will likely determine Cabrera's availability. Were he to become available, expect the Red Sox to be very interested.

Over the past six seasons, only Ichiro Suzuki has appeared in as many games as Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera, according to the Boston Globe.

Our View:Both have played in 953 games over that span. While his steady run production is obviously the main reason to invest in Cabrera in fantasy leagues, his durability is a big edge over a lot of other slugging first basemen.

FoxSports.com is reporting that the Detroit Tigers could get a very inticing prospect package in return for Miguel Cabrera if they would be willing to pay part of his remaining salary. Cabrera is scheduled to make $126 million over the next six years.

Our View:The article points out that the Tigers could get more mid-market teams involved in the bidding if they would be willing to pay about $5 million a year on Cabrera's deal. It is still unclear how serious the team is about moving Miggy, but they likely won't want to pick up much of his salary unless the return package is loaded, as money is the only reason they are looking into a trade.
